Linda Haddleton named Chair of the Insurance Managers Association of Cayman

Artex is pleased to announce that Linda Haddleton, Managing Director – Cayman has taken on the role of Chairperson for the Insurance Managers Association of Cayman (IMAC) effective this month. Linda steps into the role after serving as vice-chair for the two previous years. Previously she also served as Chair of IMAC’s Legislative and Regulatory Committee and before that as Chair of IMAC’s Education Committee. Linda is also a Director of the IMAC Educational Scholarship Foundation.

“I am excited to step into this role. We have accomplished much in the captive insurance industry, and Cayman is recognized as doing what it does in this space very well. But there are untapped industries and geographies that I think we can expand into. My goal is to focus on innovation for the sector and to diversify this domicile’s remit,” states Haddleton. “I have been a part of IMAC for decades and we are proud of the role we have played in Cayman’s development as a domicile for captives and other alternative risk transfer structures. I want to ensure this development continues well into the future.”

Linda began her career in captive insurance in 1987, and has been intimately involved with the design, formation, implementation and management of Cayman captives and other insurance/reinsurance entities ranging in size, nature and complexity and serving multiple industries. In her role as Managing Director of the Artex Cayman office, she is responsible for all office staff and operations – including formation and management of captives, insurance-linked securities and other structured transactions. Prior to joining the alternative risk insurance industry, Linda qualified and worked as a chartered accountant after gaining a B. Comm. Degree (Hons) and a post-graduate Diploma in Professional Accounting (Hons) from University College Dublin. She is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland.
